Over the years the traditional Indian culture has changed from being conservative to modern. Actors and Actresses in India have now expanded their acting careers in modeling, appearing on magazines and up until recently appearing in Hollywood films. One film released in 2004 "Bride and Prejudice" starring Aishwarya Rai, is a good example when east meets west. This famous actress and once Miss World has opened a path into Hollywood in recent years that has got many actors wanting the attention from Hollywood.
"Bride and Prejudice" is a Bollywood update of Jane Austen's classic tale, a mother is eager to find rich husbands for her four daughters. When the rich single men Balraj and Darcy come to visit, the Bakshi family have high hopes to pretty much trap the mean, but because of cultural differences and opinions each sisters lives are complicate.
Ineresting title very catchy. I watched a few of these bollywood movies while I was in Lebanon, but they were translated to English. Bollywood movies tend to revolve alot around romance stories.
ReplyDeletethis is so true. i love to watch Hollywood and Bollywood movies. there just so interesting and have so much creativity. they show cultural differences and how two countries can come together and make a movie.
ReplyDeleteI love how Bollywood makes use of more unknown actors in their films. My favorite part of Bollywood movies are the giant dance scenes. Bollywood directors must be very talented to be able to coordinate these massive productions.
